ABOUT
Lily Turaski is an enthusiastic lecturer in the School of Materials Science and Engineering at Georgia Tech. She uses hands-on demonstrations and interactive problem-solving to create dynamic learning environments even in large lectures. She finds it especially rewarding to help students connect materials science to their own work, research, and everyday lives.
Before joining the faculty at Georgia Tech, she attended Stanford University for graduate study and earned her B.S. in Materials Science and Engineering from Georgia Tech. Go Jackets!
Teaching Interests
As course coordinator for MSE 2001: Principles and Applications of Engineering Materials, Turaski oversees the curriculum for the School of MSE’s largest service course while also teaching the course each semester. She also teaches additional undergraduate MSE courses, including MSE 3210 (Fundamentals of Transport Phenomena). Her teaching philosophy emphasizes research-based instructional practices, active and hands-on learning, and sustainability in materials education.
She is an active member of the American Society for Engineering Education and contributes to scholarship on teaching and learning in materials science.
