Polymer Research Laboratory


State of the art facilities in production and characterization of polymeric materials exist in the polymer research laboratory, as part of the polymer research and education center. A listing of the key equipment and facilities, seperated into material production and characterization, is provided below.

Material Production Equipment and Facilities

Polymerization
Continuous stirred tank reactor (CSTR) polymerization unit for manufacture of Polyacrylonitrile.
Reaction Engineering Group - Reactors: 1.0L, 1.5L, 2.0L, 3.0L glass reactors for batch reactions; 0.25L, 0.5L, or 1.5L glass reactors for continuous reactions. Miscellaneous Reactors.

Mixing, Solution making

Multizone Stabilization Line with four zones with independent stresses (or residence times), temperatures and atmospheres. Max. temperature about 400C.
