Mseniors0502 SE First Annual Student Awards Ceremony 2005

The First Annual Student Awards Ceremony was held this year on April 26, 2005.  We celebrated the accomplishments and outstanding academic achievements of our student body.  Undergraduate scholarships and awards, graduate fellowships and awards were presented, along with the three new  Awards: The  Advanced Publication Award, Research Initiation Award, and Outstanding Thesis Award.  A special recognition was given also in honor of Dr. Kenneth Sandhage on receiving the B. Mifflin Hood Professorship.

Research Initiation Award

The Research Initiation Award is presented to Georgia Tech MSE graduate students who have authored or co-authored a peer -reviewed journal paper. These papers are based on work conducted at Georgia Tech. This award may be won once as the lead author and once as a co-author. In each case, the papers were accepted for publication or in print within 18 months of the start of the student as a graduate student in MSE at Georgia Tech.
