The School of Materials Science and Engineering at the Georgia Institute of
Technology is seeking to add several outstanding faculty at all levels in strategic areas of Biomaterials (including biomanufacturing, biomineralization, biosensing, bioelectronics, biophotonics, and biomodeling),
Nanomaterials (including synthesis; advanced characterization; fabrication of nano devices and systems; and modeling and measurements of properties), Materials for Sustainable Energy
, as well as the fields of Advanced Ceramics and Metallurgy.
Qualified candidates must hold a Ph.D. or equivalent in materials science and
engineering, or related science/engineering discipline. The candidates must possess a distinguished record of research accomplishments and publications, and the ability to mentor graduate students and develop an
innovative research and educational program. Successful candidates will be expected to attract external funding and build a strong sponsored-research
program, lead independent research at the cutting edge of their field, and teach undergraduate and graduate courses. Selection process will include passing a pre-employment background screening.
The School of Materials Science and Engineering boasts diverse expertise of faculty with almost equal shares of expertise in
structural, electrical, nano-, and bio-materials. It is the hub of materials related research and education activities at the Georgia
Institute of Technology. A number of faculty hold joint appointments in various schools and colleges on campus. Its internationally
-recognized faculty led more than a dozen interdisciplinary research centers and programs. The School of Materials Science and
Engineering, and the College of Engineering at Georgia Institute of Technology, are amongst the top-ranked programs in the U.S.
