UNDERGRADUATE PROGRAM

Undergraduate students can receive a B.S. in Materials Science and Engineering (BSMSE), and an Undergraduate Minor in Materials Science.  We are now offering a new Five-year Bachelor of Science and Master’s Degree Program for outstanding students who want to obtain a graduate degree.  Also, students may obtain a second undergraduate degree in Materials Science and Engineering.

The Bachelor of Science in Materials Science and Engineering degree is designed to provide students with a broad exposure to all classes of materials behavior, research and development of new materials. The BSMSE program is accredited by the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET).  This professional endorsement ensures an excellent curriculum and facilities. Graduation from an ABET-accredited program is a requirement for becoming a registered professional engineer.

GRADUATE PROGRAM

Degrees are offered at both the master’s and Ph.D. levels. The Ph.D. program is the cornerstone of our graduate program, with graduates being qualified to move into academic positions, to direct research programs, and to lead development of tomorrow’s industrial products. The Graduate degrees offered include an M.S. in Materials Science and Engineering with three program options (thesis, non-thesis, and industrial internship). A Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) is also offered at the graduate level.
